The Company: 12 Second Commute
Founder & CEO: Darryl Graham
Startup Cost: $97
A few ok marketing tools with a strong emphasis on getting people to buy into the 'next big thing' Darryl is working on called 'Power Build System' (PBS). It doesn't appear to be a scam but the whole thing was very disorganised which kind of put me off. I'll show you what to expect.
When I first looked at the 12secondcommute.com sales page I honestly wondered what the whole thing was about:
"The Power Builders Are Coming..." Hmmmm... ok cool bro and what the flip does that mean to me??
"Register for your free review" Review of what? It sounds like he's offering a free website appraisal or something... They are actually talking about giving you a free 'trial account' but to me this is strange wording- maybe it's just me lol!
Anyway, I was intrigued and it was free so I signed up.
The first page I came to was telling me all about how this was launched in 2009 and is now outdated so Darryl explained how he's creating the all new PBS which is going to be way better.
As I was reading down the page the whole thing was a little confusing and left me wondering how exactly these two programs were related and what I was supposed to do to get started other than buy something that hasn't even been launched yet?
Well, I spent some more time going through everything and I'll break down these two programs to explain how it all works...
The 12 Second Commute Program
This program consists of 3 main sections and gives you 7 days to try it out before cancelling your account:
List Builder: This is a selection of links you can use to promote this same program. Theses links take people to a page designed to get them to click to find out more. Once they do they will be led to an email capture page for this program. When people join through your unique links you are building your list and when you have a list you can make money by sending them affiliate offers. Apparently you can also make money when these people 'upgrade' but there is very little information on this anywhere I can see.
Promotional Pages: This is a selection of capture pages designed to get a persons email address so you can build your list. This is geared for the promotion of the same system.
Prospecting System: This allows you to set up a ready made capture page to promote this system or anything else you like in the 'work from home' niche.
It walks you through a fairly easy set up process, by the end of this you'll have a hosted capture page and an automated email series all set up and ready to go. How many people can subscribe it doesn't say.
Capture Page Creator: This allows you to create a fully customised capture page hosted on their servers to promote whatever you want. Whoever subscribes through your page will go into your autoresponder.
Program Builder: This is where you can set up a duplicatable lead generation system with a fully customised capture page and and autoresponder series. The unique thing about this is that it allows you to generate a 'password' that will automatically get given to people that sign up through your capture page. This password can be used by your referrals to duplicate this same system you've set up, only with their own capture page and email series.
For example: You are promoting an opportunity known as 'MutliCash' (made up name). You spend a few hours setting up a 'program' which includes a capture page and autoresponder email series along with other things you'll need to do to make the whole system work. This is designed to get you prospects for your MultiCash opportunity. When those prospects join through this system they will automatically be sent a unique password that allows them to use this same system to get their own referrals. They can customise it with their own capture page and emails but the framework of the system is not modified. In other words, it makes it simpler and more duplicatable for your referrals to go out and get their own referrals. Clearly, this would primarily be set up for mlm opportunities.
Other: There's also some fairly general trainings and tools to help you get more value out of this.
As far as price and membership inclusions go, he really does have some serious work to do on this website. I mean take a look at this screenshot I took of the menu entitled 'image library' in the members area that talks about a 'Plus' account:
It's pretty strange how they give some indication of what this 12SC costs in a totally random place... the image library. What the? No where else does it really explain the true cost of this without relating it to buying the pre-launch program I am about to explain.
- You can try it for free
- There is some value in it for people wanting to set up a lead generation system
- The individual training videos in each step make it pretty easy for people to learn what to do and how to set everything up
- I think most people would be a little confused about how to get started and what this is about as a whole if they are newbies to Internet marketing
- Not clear what this actually costs, exactly what is included or when the trial period ends
- The capture pages are very ordinary and old hat
- The free training is pretty much a waste of time
- You need traffic to make this work, I cannot overstate this enough. The free training does NOT cover this so you'll be spending money on advertising and advertising training if you don't upgrade
I can see the value in this but it is hard to say if it's worth the money since it cannot be determined how much it costs?!
The whole thing is a little messy and I think the marketing is pretty old, I can certainly see why Darryl has decided to launch an updated program. A lot of the training that paying members get seems to be generic PLR training that can be found anywhere online for free.
The kinds of traffic generation methods systems like this use are often either spammy or costly. Getting traffic isn't just one small part of this... it's the biggest and most costly and/ or time consuming part depending on how you go about it.
The Power Builder System
I read the sales letter inside the members area and it didn't convince me to buy into it at this stage. It seems to be a more simplified and updated version of the 12 second system and makes the whole process a lot more automated.
Heres the membership levels:
So you can start for free which allows you to build YOUR list of up to 75 people. You might make some money by 'selling advertising' as he puts it but that really depends on how targeted that list is. I'm not exactly sure what he is talking about with this advertising but he hints at having some kind of advertising portal that allows you to make money at varying commissions.
Primarily, this is a system designed to promote PBS but can also be used to promote anything at all including another program you are involved in.
The first upgrade costs $4 for a whole year and it gives you the ability to give free memberships to people. When they upgrade to the $4 level you make 100% of this. You can also earn on your first downline level on upgrades purchased.
The next level is $9 per month and allows you to earn commissions 3 levels deep, have a bigger list and earn increased commissions in other ways (see above chart).
The odd thing about this is the selling of a 'child development book' called 'I'm So Proud Of' within the system. I mean that's cool and all but it doesn't seem like the most targeted thing to be offering my list, you know... adults interested in making money online!
Right now in pre-launch though, this costs either $27 or $97 one time depending on if you want 'basic' or 'Max Pro' level. The higher level pays more in commissions. You could always just wait until launch and get a free account though to start off as I just explained above.
Both max and basic levels come with a guarantee which is kind of a red flag for me since no one can ever guarantee success with anything!
How on earth could I pay this guy $27 and expect to get $200 if it 'didn't work out'? There's no way that's for real, I mean how many people would just sign up and claim it didn't work out? That's an easy $173 I just made for the basic membership or $403 for pro LOL!
At best it would come with some serious strings I can assure you.
Not to mention there is NO information anywhere about when this is even launching... why would I pay for something when I have no idea when it's even coming out?
It seems paying the $97 fee for the Pro Max account also gives you lifetime 'advanced' membership of the 12SC and one years access to the PBS whenever it comes out.
Paying the $27 fee gives you the same 'advanced' access to the 12SC but it doesn't say for how long?? It also gives you one years access to the 'basic' membership of PBS.
So in other words, you are paying for a membership with 12SC which is not even explained about what you are getting and access to a new program that you have no idea when it will launch! Hmmmm... not very convincing for me.
Here's how I would sum this up:
- It started out a little confusing as to what was even being offered
- Once I had a look around, there was some good value to be found in the members area. What you actually get, how much the different membership levels cost and how long your trial period was very vague at best for 12SC
- You are encouraged to buy PBS which is apparently the 'next big thing' but are not told when it is even launching
If the cost of joining 12SC is pretty low, then I would say this does have some value in itself depending on what you are trying to accomplish. That's about as far as I would go though.
Darryl doesn't appear to be a scammer overall but he really needs to re-design this website to make it way more clear what is being offered for what amount of money with 12SC or scrap it completely and just launch the new program already.
Here's the information you do get about this:
I also do not like the idea of paying this guy good money in the hopes of MAYBE one day seeing his new program. It might be great, but he needs to provide more substance if the majority of people are even going to consider joining.
At present and based on what I have seen, I do not recommend this and advise you to proceed with caution. If he launches the PBS I'll review it and drop a link in here after I've published it so you guys can check it out.
