Get The Support You Need To Succeed Inside Wealthy Affiliate

This bonus is all about getting the help you need within the Wealthy Affiliate platform. I know what it's like when you are just starting out, things can seem a little overwhelming!
This will help you figure out how to get the support you need to succeed.
Where Can You Get Help?
One of the things I love most about WA is just how much support you get from the community. When I first started out I was asking all kinds of annoying questions. But asking those question really helped me succeed and I want to encourage you to do the same. Never feel like your question is stupid, never.
If you haven't asked it, someone else has or will and this is all a learning experience so you can't expect yourself to know everything right out of the gate! No one does.
Anyways, here are the top 6 ways to leverage the WA support system effectively...
#1 Ask The Community
This is a good option if you want to ask multiple people for their opinion and help on something you are unsure of. Depending on the time of day and other factors, you can end up getting dozens of replies to a question within minutes using this approach.
Step 1: Click on the very top bar and start typing in your question
Step 2: Check to see if anyone has created a training that answers your question first. If not, they might have created a blog post which you can check out. I have underlined these in orange below to show you what I mean.
Step 3: If there is no training or blog posts that answer your question, ask the community! Simply type the headline of your question where I have circled so people know what it's about and under that type in the actual question you have. That's it!
This method is good for if you want to check out what others have already asked to save you the trouble of asking it yourself and you can also get tons of responses quite quickly.
#2 Post a Question After The Training
This is a very good way to get specific help with something relating to the training. Maybe you've been through the lesson but there's just something that didn't quite make sense. This is perfect for that.
Step 1: Get yourself into the training by clicking on the green tab.
Step 2: Ask your question by typing it right into the box below the training as shown below.
Note that the question thread is specific to each course. So, for the first course your question will be seen throughout all 10 lessons, and in the second course the same will apply and so on.
I like this method because it's very specific to the individual training and it is generally very active so getting an answer can be quite quick.
#3 Jump Into Live Chat
This is a way to ask short and simple questions and for many, it's a social thing. I personally don't recommend spending too much time here, the less time you spend on your business the less results you will see. But hey, that's me! You might enjoy a good chat and all good 🙂
You can access this by clicking on the very left hand side menu option OR straight from the 'Activity Dashboard' area.
#4 Write a Blog Post
I have to admit that I don't utilise this as much as I could. I have about 10,000 things going on with my sites and I always procrastinate with the blog feature. Anyway, this can be an amazing way to connect with folks and share your journey. It can also be a good way to get people's opinions on something. Sometimes a lot of people's opinions!
Step 1: Click on the little pen icon up the top of the screen and select 'write a new blog'.
Step 2: Follow the prompts to create your first blog post. You can add 'tags' to let people know what the post is about and if you want it to be shown as a success post or not. Other than that, just type away and hit submit!
While I haven't spent too much time blogging inside WA, I have spent some time communicating with others who have posted to help them. If I see someone has posted a blog about something I can help with or if I feel I can encourage someone in some way, I'll stop by and say share my thoughts.
#5 Private Messages
This is the best way to get 1-on-1 mentoring and coaching. Personally, this is where I spent most of my time asking for help. You name it, I've asked it and I'm sure I had driven Kyle, Carson and others absolutely mad over the time! I want you to know that you can message me at any time about your business. I am very busy these days but I always make time for you guys because I got so much help when I first started.
Step 1: Click on the message icon at the top of your screen.
Step 2: Type the username of the member you wish to contact
Step 3: Type in your heading and question and hit send.
Also, you can message Kyle, Carson or any other member within WA. It is important to note that sometimes it can take 2-3 days to get a reply from those guys, understandably. They are the founders after all! I usually respond within 1 day unless it's the weekend :)
#6 Technical Website Support
Last but not least, if you are having any kind of issues with your actual website this is for you. I absolutely love this because these guys are not only super helpful, but they are insanely quick! I mean, they respond within 5 minutes quick. This is mainly for problems with your website, hosting, plugins etc. as oppose to marketing or account related enquiries.
Step 1: Click on the SiteRubix tab on the left and then click on the 'support' tab.
Step 2: Follow the prompts. It's all laid out quite easily so there's no need for me to explain this part. But if you do get stuck let me know in the comments below and I'll update this.
WHO Should You Ask For Help?
The support within WA is awesome and it has helped me immensely in my online business. In fact, the support you receive is what makes WA so great! That said, it's important to know who you should take advice from since WA is such a BIG community.
To put it bluntly...
Some members have good intentions but really don't know what they are talking about, while other members can be extremely helpful to you and your online business endeavours. It's a bit of a mixed bag, so it pays to be a bit selective about who you take advice from.
Personally, I recommend sticking as close to the core training as possible and only taking advice from members who are objective when giving their opinion. I guess this is something you will work out for yourself in time, but one rule of thumb is not to take a persons word for something. As in, always do your homework when it matters.
The WA Ranking System
I thought it would be useful to clarify how the WA ranking system works real quick...
The WA ranking system is a smart way to keep members engaged within the platform. As in, real studies have proven that people engage more if there is some kind of reward involved. In this case, the reward is WA rank. Some members help just for the love of helping while some help mainly to boost their WA rank. Then there's everything in between.
In any case, the most important thing to understand is that WA rank means nothing about how successful a member is with their actual business. As in... zero, zip, nada! It is simply an indicator of how active the member is within the WA community. Some high ranking members are VERY successful online, yes. But it has nothing to do with their WA rank.
I'm not trying to be negative here, but your success is VERY important to me so I really wanted to share this with you to help you avoid taking advice from people you 'think' are experts when in reality, they just spend a lot of time communicating inside WA.
The good news is there are MANY knowledgeable and helpful entrepreneurs within the WA community (regardless of WA rank) so there's no shortage of great people to learn from.
