In this MyView Survey review you will come to learn that although this is a popular paid survey website it is not something that will earn you a great income, not by a long shot.
What I Found
First of all I signed up and once I got to the members area I found that I was completely unable to take part in any surveys at all, it was just empty. Perhaps it was my address or profile but for whatever reason there was nothing for me.
I was able to do some digging and find out what this website was all about though, so it wasn’t a total waste of my time.
The company was founded by Hugh Davis and Keith Price who run a few different survey websites. It seems as though they are running a legit company with reasonable support and honest communication.
They specialise in surveys and product testing and use a points based system to reward people for their efforts.
After doing some digging I was able to find that these guys pay people primarily through gift cards, Paypal and donations to charity. Apparently there is a minimum amount of 2500 points required before being able to spend your reward points.
According to some people having used MyView, the average survey is between 1000-2000 points so that is a pretty low requirement to redeem points in comparison to some companies.
To redeem one $25 Amazon gift card will cost you 35,000 points which as I will explain is pretty ridiculous for the amount of time you will be investing.
To redeem this basic gift card of only $25 you would need to complete around 25 surveys on average. Given that each survey will take you around 30 minutes to complete, you would be looking at over 12 hours to obtain one gift card. This works out to a whopping $2 per hour!
That is also assuming you don’t attempt to qualify for a survey only to be rejected, which happens all the time in this game. Apparently it takes about 15 minutes just to see if you qualify… you could literally waste hours going through different surveys trying to qualify.
One thing I will say is that they offer a small amount of credits just for trying to qualify, which is really good compared to some companies. In reality, and according to many survey reviewers, the average amount of money people really make with this kind of thing is about $1 per hour all things considered.
The question you need to ask yourself is, how much is my time worth? Are there better things you could be investing your time with to actually make a real income online? The answer is yes, there absolutely are better alternatives in my opinion. I’ll get to that at the end but for now let’s look at the pros and cons of MyView.com.
What I Liked
- Not a lot of hype and false income claims
- Good rating with the BBB
- Low redemption quota
- Reward you a small amount just from trying to qualify
What I Didn’t Like
- A lot of the survey rewards are just entries into sweepstakes
- Extremely low income potential
- Complaints about customer service and withdrawal issues online
- There was nothing available when I signed up and I have heard others complaining about a lack of surveys
- You are giving away a lot of personal information and valuable insights into products and services for minimal rewards
Why I’m Not A Fan Of Paid Surveys
Personally I see doing paid surveys as a complete waste of your time and effort, plain and simple.
In reality most people only earn a couple of dollars per hour at best and eventually realise the only real way to make any money with these things is to start referring people to join up and make a cut off what they are doing.
This is called affiliate marketing and you can start doing this for free.
You will not be taught how to refer people effectively by the company itself, you need quality training to learn how to build a website and get free targeted traffic from Google.
Without a website or being able to get traffic, you won’t be referring anyone.
While clicking, reading, watching videos and doing other stuff like that may seem like a good way to earn a few extra dollars, it mostly just robs you of hours of your time. I recommend spending that time learning how to build a real online business and learning how to create a real income for yourself.
