Product: The Commission Toolbox
Owner: Glynn Kosky
Quite simply, this is email marketing with a WordPress website using traffic exchange traffic. The training is decent for the price and I do think you are getting value for money overall. But this is nothing ground breaking and there are some drawbacks to consider before buying this.
I remember looking at this a couple of weeks ago and pondering over whether I should buy it or not. I couldn't help but notice that this time the name had changed even though the product looks identical. It seems this very same product was called 'Million Dollar Toolbox' not long ago but it's now called 'The Commission Toolbox'.
Not sure what that's about. Anyway, I was intrigued by Glynn's claims about making $100 or more per day without needing to have any experience and with 100% free traffic so I went ahead and purchased the product.
Accessing The Product Was Pretty Annoying
It's safe to say this was the most elaborate set of upsells I have ever experienced throughout all the products I've purchased in this space to date.
It got pretty ridiculous in the end and it even got to the point where I wasn't even sure where on earth the actual product I'd just purchased even was! Don't stress, the product is there but here's what to expect before getting hold of it...
- $37 upsell that makes you wait several minutes before proceeding
- $47 upsell that makes you wait several minutes before proceeding
- $197 upsell
- $1 trial for Digital Altitude
- One last $197 upsell
Each of the above bullet points represents a page after you pay for this product with a video designed to get you to buy more stuff. This means you've gone through 8 addittional pages after buying just to access your product! Provided there is additional value in those products there's nothing wrong with this. But it does get pretty freaking annoying when you just want to access your product and you are put through that crap. It doesn't make me want to buy from this guy personally, it does the opposite.
The Members Area
After getting access to the members area, you'd think that'd be it for the upselling shenanigans. Nope.
This is a registration to a webinar which I was automatically registered for somehow, I'm willing to bet this is designed to sell something else as oppose to offering you actionable content. I can't say for sure since I didn't attend, but it stands to reason after everything I'd seen.
This step is literally 5 addittional upsells... I am not kidding you. This is not really a step at all.
Note: One of the companies being promoted in this step is called 'Cool Handle' which is a web hosting company with tons of complaints on the BBB website and elsewhere. I haven't used them myself but I do recommend doing your homework on these guys before buying. You don't need this to make the system work, but I thought it might be helpful for you to know.
Finally, you can download your product! Turns out this is a 66 page e-book about email marketing with a capture page using traffic exchanges. There is no doubt about it, email marketing with a capture page is a very effective strategy to making money online. That said, I'm struggling to see how this product is any different or unique to the last 10,000 make money online products teaching the same thing?
This is just a video about how to access the upsells you may have purchased up to this point.
These are some bonuses Glynn has put together which do contain actual content. Yes, there IS actual content buried in this! I have to admit I was starting to lose hope by this point. Part of this consists of a handful of 'cheat sheets' on related topics that are worth a quick read if you are a newbie, but nothing comprehensive.
You also get access to some of his old products in this step which contains some good content from what I could see.
I was actually impressed by this since there is worthwhile content and considering you've only paid $7 to get this, it's pretty good value! I didn't go through all of it but the '$300 CPA Everyday' product consisted of 15 videos on Instagram marketing which is worth checking out.
How This System Works
The idea is to get an autoresponder like MailChimp, domain name, hosting and install WordPress so you can put it all together. What the heck? Sounds complicated, but it's really not once you get into the swing of things. I think the actual process is explained pretty well within the PDF.
A capture page is just a webpage you use to collect a persons email address and Glynn shows you how to use the WordPress site builder which is a good approach. Using Glynn's method you will simply create a capture page within your WP site and connect it with your autoresponder. This is just the email messaging service you will connect to your capture page so you can collect and send emails to people.
The below screenshot is an example of the page you are being show to build in the training:
He does show you the most cost effective way to set things up and while I won't say it's the easiest way of doing things, it will work. There is an easy way to shortcut the entire process and make it WAY easier on yourself and 100% free. I won't go into detail here but you can check out this tutorial to learn more.
The rest of the PDF explains how to sign up for affiliate offers to promote, get free traffic, basic email marketing training and other tips. You will be using traffic exchanges to get traffic to your capture page which I'm personally not a big fan of. This can work within the 'biz op' space to an extent, but it's low quality traffic and this approach can be very time consuming if you go the free route.
What I Liked
- Decent value in the core product
- Method you to get rolling for free/ very cheap
- Access to old products which seem worthwhile to some extent
- There's a Facebook group
What I Didn't Like
- Way too much upselling
- Core training is fairly 'nuts and bolts' but is far from everything you need as a newbie
- I'm not a fan of traffic exchanges
It's not a scam and there is value, but it's not my top choice for beginners looking to get started online.
If you can dodge the onslaught of upsells coming at you and stick to the core training plus some of the bonuses, there is definitely value for a beginner interested in email marketing. This will help you get up and running but don't expect to use this product alone to start making $100 or more per day. At least, not in a hurry anyway.
If you go through everything and apply what you learn, there's no doubt you'll make money over time since this can be a powerful strategy. I personally think most beginners will get to a point and be pretty lost at how to actually start making a reliable income. Without further training it's going to be difficult for newbies to make decent money which is probably where some of the upsells come into play.
