Product: Vid Lyft
Owners: Matthew Neer & Seth Bias
Price: $1 trial/ $9.95 - $49.95
It certainly sounds exciting being able to push a button and get your videos ranking in Youtube but as I am about to show you, it's not quite that simple. Well, I put the 'AIR' system to the test and in this review I share the results I got after using it. Unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing.
I got an email about this last night and I was intrigued by the concept of getting videos ranking super easy in Youtube. I mean, I was skeptical and all but I just had to find out if it was real or not!
This product was launched in November of 2016 by Seth Bias and his partner Matthew Neer, I remember Matthew from a review I did a while back on Project 10k. These guys are very successful marketers and are well known in the Warrior Plus community so I was keen to see if they were actually onto something.
I ended up taking the $1 trial since it gives you the same access to everything as if you paid full price, only it is limited to 3 days. Perfect.
I also paid for one of the upsells which is something I almost never do! The reason I did this was because I wanted to test this puppy out and show you guys in real time if it actually works. There were 4 upsells along with a few downsells (reduced price if you don't buy) in this funnel as shown below:
Tag Spy ($47): This is supposedly some kind of competition checking tool $47
Done For You Videos ($97): This was made out to be a lot more epic than it actually is, it's just 5 very short videos you can download and some keywords for one of those videos. This is the one I bought.
Beast Mode Rank Training ($197): Apparently some good training on getting your videos ranking. This also includes access to 10 webinar video replays which contain over 30 hours of content.
License Rights ($495): This is essentially buying the rights to use the exact same sales funnel as you just went through to access this very product.
The Training Videos
There were only 3 very short videos in the members area which basically tell you how to use the tool and provide some basic tips on getting your videos ranked.
This video talks about what you should be doing to optimise your videos. According to Seth, we should put the keyword we are targeting in the title, description and in a tag among other places. Pretty standard stuff. He also says it is important to write a description of between 100-500 words which includes your keyword. Good advice all round although it does mean it's not as simple as pushing a button and letting the 'artificial intelligence' do the work.
This is where Seth shows you how to check the rankings of your video. This is a nifty little tool and a simple one. It just shows you were your video is ranking in the Youtube search results.
Last but not least, a quick video showing you how to put your video URL into the 'AIR' system and let it do it's magic. Does this really work though? I intend to find out.
VidLyft Case Study
Now that we have looked at the tool and run through the system, I wanted to show you guys if this tool really worked. This is the only way I could form an objective opinion about the tool, to try it myself.
The Test Parameters
The 1st video I am using a SUPER low competition keyword and in the 2nd video I'm going to choose a slightly more difficult keyword, but still low comp. I'm going to follow the the training Seth provides as closely as possible, which includes putting in a 100-500 word description in the box below the video.
I'm using a dummy account with zero authority and reputation to find out how it works from scratch.
Test Video #1 (Security Cameras Niche)
First up, I did a quick bit of keyword research and some research about the product the video revolved around. The keyword I chose was "Nest Cam Security Camera 3 Pack Bundle" which has super low competition as you can see below:
Then, I renamed the video with my keyword, put the keyword in the title, top line of the description and in the social sharing description on the side. I then typed in about 300 words of unique content into the description box. That's it!
Note: The tool I am using is called Jaaxy and it is a tool I use each day in my online business, it works. The 'Avg' means how many people search for this term on Google, Yahoo and Bing each month on average and the 'QSR' represents how many people are trying to rank for this keyword. Generally, anything under 300 QSR is good and under 50 QSR is very good. I won't say it's a perfect gauge on competition, but it absolutely works and I can personally attest to this with my sites.
The moment I uploaded the video, I was ranked #1 in Youtube and Google for that keyword- instantly! I did NOT use the AIR tool to get these results, I was going to use that after seeing where I landed.
Since I was already ranking #1 for the target keyword there wasn't much point in using AIR, so used it for the shorter version "Nest Cam Security Camera 3 Pack" which is still essentially the target keyword.
The AIR tool did nothing. In fact, not long after doing that my rankings for my primary keyword dropped to page 2 and the second keyword ranking was obliterated completely. Cool...
I'm not sure exactly why this happened and realistically there are a whole bunch of reasons. Maybe I shouldn't have used AIR on the second keyword? Not sure. Needless to say, it hasn't increased my confidence in the AIR system though! My video was also stripped of it's picture which was weird.

Test Video #2 (Battery Restoration Niche)
For this video I chose the keyword "DIY Battery Restoration" and followed the same procedure. This is still a low competition keyword but it's not SUPER low either as you can see below:
How did it go? Before I used AIR I was nowhere to be seen, and after using AIR nothing changed! I didn't even make it onto the first 10 pages of Youtube or Google for this campaign. See screenshot below:
Safe to say, I'm not very impressed with this so far and the AIR system has done zero for my rankings.

Artificial Intelligence Or a Gimmick?
Based on my experience with this tool so far, the AI thing is just a marketing gimmick. I'm not saying it doesn't work at all, but it's nothing to get excited about and it's certainly not some magic ranking tool at any stretch. Sorry guys.
That said, there are some things that coudl have affected the outcome:
- Youtube account is brand new and has zero authority or reputation
- I was unable to choose the thumbnail given the newness of the account
- I used more than 1 keyword in the tag section of the second video
- The videos are duplicate content
- Potentially other aspects
When Seth shows you an example of getting ranked on the sales page, he targeted the keyword "How To Grow Your Snapchat Audience Fast" which is a VERY low competition keyword as you can see:
This is exactly why my first video ranked so easily as well, I targeted the right keyword.
Seth also optimised his content in the description and used other strategies that he shows in the brief video training. When he shows you the other videos he was ranking above, they were NOT targeting the exact long-tail keyword he was. This is why he beat them, not by using a magic ranking tool.
I'm not saying he was trying to trick anyone, but I am saying you should be aware of this. How effective this system is depends ENTIRELY on the competition factor and other important factors. At best, the AIR tool is just part of the equation. How much a part doesn't look promising based on what I've seen.
I also did some digging and found out that this tool already partly exists, and it can be found and used for free at http://www.youtuberankchecker.net/. I am not kidding when I say it is EXACTLY the same apart from the AIR component which we don't even know works.
What I Liked
- Would be cool if it actually worked
- Gives you the exact rank of your YouTube video
- Some good and very basic tips on getting your video ranked
- I could try for $1
What I Didn't Like
- The AIR tool had zero effect (and potentially a negatve effect) on ranking my video
- The 'video archive' upsell was just 5 short videos
- No training on keyword research- a key component
- The same rank checker tool can be found for free and there is no evidence to back up the AIR part
I'm not a fan based on my experience and I do not recommend this.
It'd be nice to think there was a magic button you could press to get any video you wanted ranked quickly and easily. I get it. Unfortunately, that's just not real!
Getting YouTube videos ranked is very similar to ranking content, and that is something I understand. I have built up my websites to attract 10,000's of unique visitors each month for free and there's no 'secret trick' to how I did it and how I continue growing my traffic. I simply provided people with useful content and follow some proven techniques.
I don't claim to be an expert on Youtube marketing but in my experience, it is very similar to ranking content like this in Google with a website. Makes sense since Google owns Youtube and the videos show up in their results as well.
What's the best way to become a successful YouTuber? Find low competition keywords and create a channel dedicated to that niche, fill it with useful video content that people watch, like and share. This may not be the overnight approach, but before too long you can absolutely build a successful channel and promote any relevant product or service you want!
If doing this review reminded me of anything, it's the INSANE power of YouTube marketing for anyone willing to put the effort in. If I can use a brand new account to slap up a video that ranks in position #1 INSTANTLY, imagine what you could do by putting in some effort? There is your opportunity! It is entirely possible that Seth and Matthew provide some very worthwhile training within the platform (for extra cost) but I can't say for sure since I didn't buy those upsells.
Update: after publishing this review, many others have reported having a bad experience with this product, so it seems it wasn't just my videos after all. I decided to lower my overall rating accordingly.
