I came a cross this company the other day and decided to do some research and find out what they’re all about. Specifically I found that a LOT of people were not actually getting paid with Panda Research Surveys and that they are not so much about paid surveys as they are about trial offers that will cost you money to participate in.
PandaResearch.com began in 2005 and market their service as a way for people to earn money by completing surveys and offers. They claim they’ve paid out over 2 million dollars to participants in the last 10 years of operation.
Their website is very basic, has not been updated in over 4 years and doesn’t really make me want to join. Having said that, it doesn’t appear to be promising quick wealth by doing surveys which is a big plus in my books.
This company does leave a lot to be desired though and has an alarming number of complaints floating around the web.
Complaints About Getting Paid
Many people have had issues in getting paid with this company even after doing everything they were supposed to be doing. They are having to wait over 3 months just to be paid what they are rightfully owed, and even then are still having issues.
It also seems as though their customer service is pretty hopeless in sorting these payment issues out. People are being left paying for trial offers they signed up for months ago and have since cancelled
There are also complaints about getting heavily spammed every day after signing up to the company.
The Process You Must Endure
In order to get paid from this you must endure a pretty unreliable and lengthy process, which as I have shown doesn’t always end up working out very well for people.
Apparently you need to complete an offer that costs you money in most cases and then do a survey about your experience with it. You then wait until the third party company that commissioned the trial ‘accepts’ your submission.
If they don’t bother to accept it you don’t get paid!
You also must accumulate a minimum of $50 to be able to withdraw any money from these guys which is annoying.
Of course this is all good and well assuming they don’t decide not pay you because they don’t like the browser you have been using… apparently you MUST use Internet explorer or they cannot guarantee any payments.
This Is About Paid Trial Offers, Not Surveys
Taking a look at the actual product, it is clear that this company is primarily engaging you to take part in paid trial offers. You are not being paid any decent amount of money to do surveys like you might have been hoping for.
In order to make any money you will be paying out quite a bit to trial products and services, this has led to many complaints by unsuspecting people just trying to make a few extra bucks online.
The last complaint by a user shows Panda Research clearly telling the user they will be required to make purchases in order to actually make any money.
To me this is the exact opposite of what most people sign up to sites like this for in the first place. You are doing this to make money, not spend it!
Why Paid Survey Won’t Make You Decent Money
Paid surveys are very popular online for a number of reasons. For the most part it’s because they’re easy to do and are perceived to be safe and guaranteed way to make some extra money.
I can understand this because there are a lot of scams floating around the web, finding something that seems guaranteed is enticing.
But do you have to do paid surveys in order to make money online and are they really a sure thing?
Making any kind of reasonable income from paid surveys or other requires an enormous amount of time and effort. Sure you can make a few dollars here and there but the reality is you will be running around trying to make easy money when in fact you are earning less than the minimum wage.
If you were able to scrape together a few hundred dollars per month working flat out with this kind of thing, you’d be doing very well indeed.
Even with legit survey sites, most people only make pennies and can hardly justify it with how much time is being invested. This doesn’t even take into account the fact that a lot of the time people are only getting gift cards, discounts or something other than cold hard cash for their efforts.
Can you pay the bills with an Amazon gift card? I know I can’t.
